Missed Days
Posted by on Wed 02/25/09 at 6:59 PM
A note I wrote to Sami the day before my birthday 6/9/08, as I thought, how can I tell someone what I would possibly want for my birthday? Can you get me my – Missed Days? Missed Days - Oh how I miss you and all the days I thought we would have. How I longed to show you God’s majesty, to teach you of His creations. But there wasn’t enough time and He can surely do it best. Now I’ll live out the days He has ordained for me and by the time I arrive in heaven you can be my guide. You’ll know all the best places and will have undoubtedly have had many adventures. As you would have run from the school bus to share the accounts of your day, you’ll in days to come catch me up on all your stories. In those days, with eternity to share, we’ll feel we haven’t missed a thing
Thanks!

Debi, We cannot begin to thank you enough for coming out to PRP on such short notice. Your testimony touched so many of our young men. While you said they intimidated you it never showed and I know you inspired many of them. Your sharing of your faith and particularly your sons in how Sami won has helped to begin the healing of our students and coaches. Our house is facing some pretty strong storms right now, you showed our students how if built on the proper foundation (a Rock/Jesus) we will make it through. Make no mistake we will, and you were the beginning of that. Thanks so much.

Dear McDonald Family...what a treasure it is to stay connected with you through this website. As I take a few moments over my lunch break to read through the comments, prayer requests and recommended reading, I am once again enveloped by that same sense of love and Christ-likeness with which you so warmly welcomed me into your home last month. What a blessing it is to be bound together as one body, one family, one faith. Jarrod and I send you our love.

We finally got to visit Sami's monument. I was so sad that we weren't able to attend the dedication. The monument is beautiful in pictures but even more awesome in person. It took us a while to find it. I wasn't going to give up. After about 20-30 minutes, I let my van coast and prayed for it to stop where Sami is. Not two seconds later my husband yelled, "There she is!" I told my husband I think she was playing hide and seek with us. My daughter Sierra, who is 4, was amazed by it. She hugged Sami and made sure her scarf was fixed right. Thank you for Sam's Rock. I love sharing your purpose with others when I'm asked about my shirt. Sami will forever live.
